Today was a good day, I go to sleep in until noon, and I got to take all the time in the world to do my hair and face while watching The Internship.
To be honest I don't really think that Google does that to their interns, but I could be wrong, I only know their workers not their interns. However, the environment that is portrayed is pretty accurate. Free food, entertainment, fun and etc. The movie prompted me to make working at Google a life goal for me. I don't know whether or not thats going to happen but I can dream!
Anyways, moving on with my day, my class was cancelled and I went to Brooklyn with my gay best friend Dylan and had some wings that was DELICIOUS. Then we made our way to 5th Ave. to the glass cube of an Apple Store. Which is actually the most pointless thing ever because the actual store is underground. So what's the point of making such a nice glass cube IF NO ONE IS EVER GOING IN IT. Sorry that was a random tangent.
Dylan and I had appointments at the Genius Bar so we waited for our appointments because the Genius Bar was backed up by 40 minutes. So we took the liberty to hunt. For boys. He was so in love with this one Genius technician so we spent the waiting period by stalking him. When it was finally my turn to get my ghetto ratchet home button fixed. The button was literally sliding behind the glass screen and it was making my screen do something weird. Luckily, I was still under my warranty THANK GOD. So they just gave me a brand new one just like that. I'm so happy because the battery on my iTouch was dying anyways so this was literally a godsend. Dylan got a new battery on his phone too but ain't nobody curr about him. We both got our stuff fixed FREE OF CHARGE! Hallelujah there is a god after all, called Apple Customer Service.
Then we went off to find a subway station that had the F train line run through there and WE SAW HORSES. Yes. Horse drawn carriages in the middle of New York City. I was waiting for the stop light to cross the street and I was looking at a horse and just waving at it, and the owner or the driver, came up to me and said I could pet it! It was the first horse I have ever seen and it was SO CUTE! He even gave me two carrots to feed the horse too! I love random nice strangers! But Dylan thinks that the guy just did it so he could stand there and stare at me or get something out of it. I like to think the best of people though so he was just a nice man that let me touch and feed his horse!
Then we stumbled across a cute little cafe/deli and split a red velvet cheesecake and it was so YUMS. Yes. YUMS. I say yums. Then we made our way back to school fine with nothing out of the ordinary and I decided to actually try to troubleshoot my damn computer.
I went to the school's laptop shop (yes we have one because our school gives us computers) THREE times already to get it connected to the wifi. I've been just surviving on an ethernet cable so far because I just use it as a desktop computer, but I have to give back the cable to my friend at some point. Also because if I want to play League of Legends and I'm screaming at my computer, I don't want to bother my roommates if they're sleeping or studying. Which means I have to leave the room and the ethernet cable. So I thought it was just something wrong with my account but it wasn't we've deduced it to something wrong with my computer itself. So I called my dad and tried to get him to troubleshoot it and that didn't work either. So I've been on the phone with HP Support literally for 2 hours and I got so bored that I've typed up this long post while they've been remote accessing my computer to fix it.
The status right now looks like they're either going to send me a new Windows 8 operating system or replacing the wireless card or just replacing the computer completely. I don't know because I'm STILL on the phone with them trying to figure it out. At least the technicians are really nice and trying really hard to be helpful so I do appreciate that.
